What inspired you to begin your lifestyle transformation?

I was inspired by a friend who had taken one of the Inspirational Life challenges and lost some weight and looked great. I tried it for a week and was immediately drawn in by Cathie and Brian’s support and encouragement. I was also impressed with their commitment to proper nutrition and hydration. The combination of weight training, aerobic and nutrition is so important and it’s great to get it all in one place.

How did Inspirational Life help you achieve your goal?

It’s been slow and steady – I started in 2013 and as the sign above the door at Inspirational Life reads, “You just became 1% better” ~ and that’s how it happens. Showing up consistently and enjoying the variety in the boot camp workouts and the people you do them with makes it fun. I also love the great music Cathie puts together in her playlists. I have had low back issues and cancer surgery in the past and Cathie and Brian are great about creating modifications when needed. The daily emails help keep me on track with their encouragement, reminders and recipes.

How have the results affected your life?

I’ve lost 30 pounds, am stronger than ever and feel great. I had to give up certain foods (sugar, bread, alcohol) to drop the weight, but incorporating lots of veggies and lean protein in my diet is not a problem for me. Temptations of sugar and processed food are everywhere so I try and avoid being unprepared and becoming ravenous. My blood pressure, cholesterol and bone density are great too. Ya-hoo.
