What inspired you to begin your lifestyle transformation?
I have never been athletic and never really liked going to a gym because I always felt out of place. When Inspire first opened I would peak in the windows and read the great quotes on the walls like, “Try and fail but do not fail to try.” That quote actually motivated me to push forward in another area of my life but I was still too insecure to walk through the front door of Inspire. Then one night after work my friend Jen told me about the free week of Boot Camp offer and asked me to go along with her to check it out. In just one class I was hooked! Brian and Cathie were so welcoming and motivating that I never felt self-conscious there—no matter what my skill level. Also, having a friend/workout buddy makes it more fun and keeps me encouraged and on task.
How did Inspire Fitness help you achieve your goal?
Until joining Inspire, I was never “addicted” to exercise and would always fall off the wagon. When I did exercise on my own it was usually walking or doing a dvd in my living room. I never changed up my routine and just stayed at the same skill level. I was no longer seeing results because I had become so accustomed to my at home workouts. At Inspire I learned to push past my comfort zone and I am seeing amazing results and doing things I have never ever done before! Things that I thought I could never do until Inspire changed my mindset!
I attend boot camp 3-4 times a week and I can honestly say that I always look forward to going to class. If I know that I will have to work late, I go at 5:15am because I don’t ever want to miss boot camp. This really says a lot about the Inspire classes because I am not a morning person so it has to be great for me to get up and out of the house that early (thanks for the wake up calls Jen and Cathie!). Thanks to Inspire, exercise and fitness are now a part of my everyday life and no longer something I “force” myself to do once in a while.
But Inspire is so much more than just classes. Brian and Cathie truly live “Inspired” and share their exercise and nutrition expertise whole heartedly. With their help I have changed my eating habits and now make healthier choices. This transformation was a major process and did not happen overnight but they were with me every step of the way. Now that my nutrition is in check, I am seeing more of the results that I want and, more importantly, will be able to sustain them long-term!
How have the results affected your life?
I feel great, look better, and I am much healthier and stronger. Until Inspire, I never knew exercise and fitness could impact you like this and my outlook is much different now. In fact, the results I have achieved at boot camp have radiated into so many other areas of my life—giving me the confidence to push forward (the same way I do at boot camp) to reach my goals. Even though I may not be successful every single time, I am resilient and persistent. Now I try and sometimes may fail but I do not fail to try!
