What inspired you to begin your lifestyle transformation?

It began when I had my yearly physical in fall of 2012. As I stood on the scale and saw it read 223 pounds I was horrified. I knew I was overweight but holy moly. When the physician went over my lab work it showed my cholesterol and LDL were high as well as a diagnosis of hypertension. I was handed two prescriptions one for blood pressure and one for cholesterol. I was told to watch my diet and would be seen in three months. When I got into my car, I just cried, as I couldn’t believe I was at this stage watching my health decline. It was like I was on a downward spiral and had no one else to blame but myself. I thought I could feel sorry for myself or I could do something about it. I vowed from that moment to change my lifestyle. After trying a “boot camp” style workout, which I liked but wanted something a little more personalized, I did a search for boot camp gyms in Sparta and came across Inspirational Life. I filled out the form, did one week free, loved it and never looked back.

How did Inspirational Life help you achieve your goal?

My goal is not a destination but a way of living. The time I’ve been at Inspirational Life, Brian and Cathie have taught me no matter how much you exercise, if you don’t eat right and watch what you put in your mouth you won’t see results. As there sign says, “You Will NEVER Out Train Poor Nutrition”. These words echo with me everyday as I grocery shop and prepare my meals. The influence and support doesn’t stop when the class is over. Every morning when I check my email, their message of the day lives up to their title “Inspire” because they remind me everyday that a healthy lifestyle is not a goal but a daily routine.

How have the results affected your life?

For one, I feel more energetic now that I did in my 20’s and 30’s. I can even out pace people half my age. In addition, my mental sharpness has improved. I no longer take any medications of any kind except for my daily vitamins.

Describe Inspirational Life in one word.

It may not be one word…“Mutatio vitae”… Change of Life (as my husband says – because through Inspire I’ve got a whole new life).
